I guess it's the fact that three of my fave 60s bands are on the same bill that made me think there might have been a special connection. But, it's true, random, brilliant juxtapositions of bands did dominate the era, unlike the compartmentalized scenes of today. Just looking at the Fillmore East listings makes the mind reel. Imagine seeing Moby Grape, The Fugs and Gary Burton (June 1968), or Joe Cocker, Fleetwood Mac and King Crimson (Nov, 1969)! Ah, to have a time machine and tickets:
